It's hard to believe this little girl is almost 3 already! Well, some days it's hard to believe - other days though, it is quite obvious! Lucy definitely has a mind and personality of her own. She has been pushing and learning about her boundaries.
Some days are more challenging than others, but it's fun to watch her learn and grow from those challenges. Sometimes I will say to her "Mommy says no." She'll reply "But Lucy says yes." I always respond, "but Mommy wins." Makes me smile. Her vocabulary has grown so much it's amazing. And it's so neat to hear the more complex sentences and ideas she comes up with. She'll tell me whole stories now about how she got her owies or about a conversation she had with Daddy or about what she did at preschool. She also has little phrases she'll say all the time, some I like more than others - "What the heck?" and "Maybe so" for example.
Do you love her beautiful hair in this photo?! It's super long now and usually in her face. Gone are the days of pigtails and cute clips. The most she'll let me do with it right now is put in a headband, with the occasional bow or flower attached. Hopefully she grows out of that!
She loves to sing and has learned the words to a bunch of songs. She'll start singing to Sammy in the car when he's upset too - it's super cute. Sometimes at night I would tell her about what we had planned for the next day to help her calm down and get ready to sleep. Now she wants to hear "the plan" at least 4 or 5 times a day - makes me laugh but really shows how much kids thrive on routines.

Cutie! I like what you said about routines . . . so true. I love it when one of us (usually Drew) has a new good idea related to that. Like last night, he decided we will read to her for only 12 minutes right before she goes to bed (instead of specific number of books, which takes longer). When his timer went off, she happily reminded him what it meant.
("Her" meaning S.)
They are both just so darn cute. She really does have a mind/personality all her very own!
