Every summer our ward does a one-night campout for families and it's always so much fun. This year we went up to Tanner's Flat in Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday July 22nd. It was such a fun spot to camp - beautiful trees, cooler air, away from the city but still pretty close, and there was lots of space for the kids to run around and explore.
The family who was in charge of the campout arranged a scavenger hunt for the kids to do that evening and Lucy loved looking for all the different bags of candy.
Sammy was a super big helper while Daddy got the air mattress all set up. We've decided that taking kids camping this young is only doable for 1-2 nights so this was perfect. That night we did a bunch of Minute to Win it games. I took a bunch of photos but we weren't in any of them. The girl who set them up was 8 1/2 months pregnant and ending up leaving in the middle of the night (2:30 am!) to go have her baby! Crazy cool story, huh?
There was a sand volleyball court next to our campsite that kept the kids busy while the parents got to visit.
And there were pretty rocks to play on and pose on.
We had a great time getting away from the city and spending time together.

Just thought I'd let you know, I found your blog after I saw you at the gym. I"m Spencer's friend from Canyon Terrace, Carolynn. I frequently blog stalk you because I am to lazy to put up the coupon blog links on my blog, so I come to your blog and look at them here...he he he. Just thought I'd come clean, so that if I want to comment on your cute family you will know who I am!
It looks like you had a great time. I haven't heard back from you yet about winning the My Yellow Umbrella giveaway. Please email me back within 24 hours or I'll have to pick another winner (and I don't want too). Then I'll get you in contact with Whitney. Congratulations!
Your little ones are getting bigger by the minute. Your pictures make me want to go camping. I think I should wait though, since camping with a newborn doesn't sound fun.
