Fieldtrip Frenzy!

It seems like we need more reasons to get out of the house during the winter.  Here are a few pics of the fun stuff we've done in the past two months.

This first one isn't from a field trip but is just to show you one of our only 2 snowmen we've been able to make this year.  This cute but tiny little guy was made by shoveling all the snow in our front yard into one little pile.  We've had next to no snow this year - making driving easier but also making for a sad, snow-starved little girl!

We took our Joy School group on a field trip to the fire station, where they got to learn all about the firetruck and ambulance.

Sammy loved the little hat and trying on the kid-sized coat.

Lucy was being super shy and clingy that day so the only way to get her in the picture was to be in it myself.

The zoo is free on the last Wednesday of the month during the winter, so we headed up to see the animals.  Like the tiger bum in the picture? :)

The kids especially liked the giraffes.

We'll be heading back next Wednesday for the last free day and a promised carousel ride.

One Friday afternoon, we set out on a "family date."

We started the date at Daddy's school where Lucy and Sammy learned to ride scooters on some left by the fourth graders at school.

Then we headed over to the aquarium.

They have a new exhibit - otters.

This is a picture of Lucy sticking her head up in the otter exhibit.  They were pretty fun to watch.

Lucy and Sammy both loved the jellyfish too - or maybe they loved to stick their heads up to the big bulbous thing sticking out of the wall?

I think this picture is so cute!

Lucy decided she's about the same size as an emperor penguin.  We had a great time and then headed to Subway before I went to book club.  It's fun to have these little "family dates" to spend time together.

Last week we introduced out neighbor to the children's museum.  The little boy next to Sammy lives just three houses down and was born just 8 days after Sammy.  They are starting to be buddies and will hopefully continue to be so as they grow up.

I love this cute picture of Lucy peeking out the helicopter!
Sorry about the picture overload! It was just easier to catch up by putting it all together in one post!
