For the second half of Spencer's Spring Break we decided to head down south a bit to Minersville to visit Grandma & Grandpa Mac. For Sammy's birthday we are going to give him a train table. We thought it would be kind of fun to make him one so we called up Grandma & Grandpa to ask for their professional assistance.
While working, Lucy and Sammy's favorite thing to do was to clean up. Give them some brooms and a room full of sawdust and they were happy for quite awhile.
Working on the table. At this point we just had a bunch of pieces of wood.
While Sammy took a nap, Lucy discovered the shop vacuum. Ahhh, bliss!
The table begins to take shape!
We brought kites and the wind was perfect!
Lucy loved the kites!
The next door neighbors have rabbits and chickens so we took a little self-guided tour.
The table construction is done! Here's proof I helped some too. We're priming it for paint.
Coloring Easter eggs!
Smile!
I get the biggest kick out of this expression!
The next morning we had a little Easter Egg hunt for the kids. They loved it.
In fact, Lucy had us hide the eggs 2 more times for her. Then she hid them for me.
Then we went inside and she hid them again!
"No! MY fruit snacks!" :)
After the big hunt we headed over to see Bryce Canyon. I have lived in Utah almost my entire life and I have never been there, so it was past time. We stopped on the way to play and have lunch.
Thank goodness for random playgrounds - they always make road trips with kids so much better!
It was beautiful and the kids liked seeing all the "pretty rocks."
At this point, they were pretty tired of being in the car so no great smiles from the kiddos, but Spencer and I were pretty happy! :)
There's a smile!
One of many beautiful scenes!
I think this is such a cute picture of Spencer and Lucy. She was cold so we draped my sweatshirt over her, kind of like a cape. :)
I think this may have been the kids' favorite thing we did.
We stopped at a store in Beaver and they had these little carts for the kids. They thought they were the best things ever and ran all over the store! :) We spent Easter morning with Grandma and Grandpa and then headed home. It was a lot of fun to get out of town and spend time with "Grandma and Grandpa Great that live far, far away!"

How fun! I like Bryce Canyon, but I think I've only been once.
