Little Lucy Lu turned 23 months last week. I think this will also be her last monthday post. I'll do one for her 2nd birthday of course but then I think we'll move to "quarters." When I was younger, my Dad's extended family would always get together for a Christmas party.
My 2nd cousin, who's about 10ish years younger than me would always be there and we'd ask him how old he was; he'd always answer that he was "2 3/4" or "3 3/4."
It's one of my favorite memories of those parties. So, in that tradition, we'll be moving to quarters for Lucy, just in time to do monthdays for our new little bug who should be joining us any day now.
Anyway! Lucy has come leaps and bounds with her vocal vocabulary this month. I was slightly worried about her earlier, but not now. It takes a bit of interpretation sometimes, but she has added fan, bike, doggie, duck, drink, sock, shoe, brownie, band aid, tail, and more.
She's so funny too - we'll have a whole conversation over and
over again about tails - about who does and does not have a tail. She'll also be glad to tell you over and over again about how she got the owie on her finger (from the rocking chair). That's her other accomplishment - she's a bit accident prone. Thank goodness for band aids! These pics were taken this week at Gardner Village on a beautiful day and then at Red Butte Garden, just a couple days later, with a few inches of snow on the ground - you've gotta love Spring in Utah!
We were at Gardner Village taking 4 year old photos for a friend's son and she just loved the ducks.
Every bird we see is a duck and she gets really excited when it really is one.
Red Butte Garden was free on Arbor day so we took advantage of the chance to get out of the house.
It was beautiful despite the snow and we even got to
plant a tree to take home. I sure love this little girl. I'm excited for the new baby to come but I think I'll also miss some of this one on one time with Lucy. I need to take advantage of it!

Great pics, babe! My personal favorite saying of hers is, "Daddy, Mao Tawl!" While pointing to the cat. I also enjoy her "happy dance" and the dance she does when we read, "Lets Dance, Little Pookie" to her.
Thanks for keeping the blog updated. Love ya!
She's a cutie. It is good to get some one on one time right before, but you're going to love seeing her interact with the baby. Can't wait to see that one too! Good Luck.
