Lucy's 5th Birthday!

Our little girl turned 5 a couple of weeks ago and it was a multi-day event! Because the baby could have come any day, we decided to have her birthday party a few days before her birthday, on Saturday.
She decided on a Tangled Rapunzel theme.

Spencer drew the outline of the big sun shape from the movie and we had the kids color it in and decorate it with chalk while everyone gathered.

Spencer helped Sammy write his name. Super cute!

Instead of a cake, Lucy picked out these cute tower cupcakes from pinterest.  They were cute, easy, and something I could actually make!

After the chalk, we came in and played with balloons.  The balloons were the "lanterns" and we had little "frying pans" they used to keep them in the air.  The frying pans were black paper plates with black plastic knives taped to them.

That game turned into "get Flynn Rider." Spencer was a good sport and put on his Halloween costume.  The girls loved it! We also did a little princessy craft too.

Here's the birthday girl with her candles.

At the end they went "apple picking."  the each got to pop a balloon with candy in it.  The party was lots of fun and I'm glad we were able to get it in before the baby came!

The next Monday, we headed over to Grandpa and Nana Mac's house where Lucy's new bike was waiting for her!

She has graduated to a bike with pedals and is doing pretty well with it, though it's a bit big.  She'll get it figured out soon, no doubt!

We also had some yummy ice cream cake to celebrate her birthday, Uncle Ty's and Grandpa's.

On her actual birthday, we spread out the presents.  She opened a couple at breakfast.

And she and Sammy had fun playing with them during the day.

That afternoon, Grandma Van Hoose took her shopping and she got to pick out a toy at the store.  She picked this super cool pony.

Then she opened the rest of ours.  Here she is modeling her new dress-ups.

And she had one more visitor, Nana Manwill, who brought over more presents and some fun posters for the birthday girl!
