13 Months!

Yep, I'm still going to be doing this each month. Lucy still changes so much from month to month and it's a good way to make sure I post regularly. Plus, I haven't been too great with the journal so this is the substitute. We decided to do the photo shoot on location this month. We spent last evening having dinner with my dad and these were taken on his back deck. At first she was sooo not in the mood but we coaxed some cute shots out of her. I also decided that since she's a grown-up one year old, she could keep her clothes on from here on out. Lucy is a hoot these days. She loves to imitate - especially when we are on the phone. She'll take whatever is around and pretend it's her phone - a shoe, a toy, whatever. She's almost running now and has figured out how to walk in shoes (now that we finally bought her some:). The biggest area she has grown in lately is her communication. She isn't really saying any words yet but we've been doing baby sign language with her and she's doing awesome. She has added banana, cracker, fish, and all done to her list of words (she can also do milk, food/eat, cat, dog, and more). We watch Signing Time on YouTube all the time and she loves it. She's also figured out how to communicate what she wants in other ways by pointing and demonstrating - for example, she will hand us our hat and then pat her head to tell us to put it on. She had her 12 month check up mid-month and has hardly grown- she's now 20 lbs. 11 oz. (38%) and 31 inches tall (78%). The doctor said not to worry though - it's normal for a baby as active as Lucy. She also had two more teeth pop in - a total of 8 now!! Life with Lucy is fun, exciting, frustrating, tender, etc...!
