Play Ball!

As summer wound down, we realized we hadn't made it to a single Bees game! So when an opportunity to grab some tickets for a super cheap price came up, we jumped on it! We went to the day game on Labor Day.

Near the park there is a road named Lucy Ave.

We have a picture just like this one with Lucy when she was a year old so we thought we'd reenact it. :) Here's the link if you'd like to see the other picture yourself: http://vanhoosefamilyhappenings.blogspot.com/2009/07/lucy-avenue.html

We started out in our actual assigned seats, which were pretty good but moved as soon as the sun peaked out from behind the clouds - it was sooo hot!

We enjoyed the seats in the shade a bit more. Check out Eliza's soaking wet sweaty hair. And yet, she's still adorable!

Going to the Bees game is so much fun for us because it's such a family-oriented place. For example, the kids love to ride the train along the outfield.

They even did it all by themselves (while we watched of course).  There's also a playground back there.

The kids brought their gloves and Sammy and Spencer had a little game of catch.

After awhile we relocated to the outfield, which was the most pleasant place to be - it had a breeze. Lucy had a great time rolling down the hill.

And they enjoyed dancing along to the fun music played as each baseball player came up to bat.

We had a great time and it was so much fun to go to a day game - though it was so hot, it was nice to be able to stay for the whole thing without it interfering with bedtime. (Lucy wanted nothing to do with our family picture - she's hiding behind my legs in this picture!)
