The dog days of summer! By August we are usually realizing that we haven't done all the things we planned on doing so we try to squeeze them in!
The first weekend in August, our niece got baptized. Her next door neighbor has the same birthday and they had a big joint bday/baptism party. Eliza slept through much of it!
I just love this picture! She looks so stylish! Two of Spencer's aunts - Aunt Judy and Aunt Diana came to visit in July. They stayed with us for a week and toured a bunch of temples and saw the sights while they were here. At the end of their stay, we joined them in the temple to do some work for their brother (Spencer's uncle). It was a really neat experience.
We also took a trip to the Tracy Aviary. We have Pass of All Passes and felt we needed to use them a bit more. We went to Seven Peaks a couple of times but never brought our camera so we definitely needed to pull it out for the aviary.
Lucy comparing her wingspan to the birds.
And now little Sammy's turn!
I love this pic! Lucy's checking out a little tiny bird.
There was a baby flamingo there too - can't see them in this picture, but you can see three other creatures!
Lucy's a bird!
Sammy was ready to go home by this point - can you tell?
And this is what Eliza did the whole time. :)
I think the highlight of the trip was feeding the ducks. This got Sammy excited again.
Afterward we went for a rare dinner out. I sure love family dates like this.
Lucy is such a great big sister. She is especially good at making sure Eliza gets her tummy time. Good thing too - I'm horrible at remembering!
And Eliza sure loves her big sister!
One day after an outing Sammy was so tired. Spencer tried to get him to wake up by standing him up in the bathroom and he just curled back up and went back to sleep right there!
And finally, there's been a whole lot of this going on - beating the heat! This was the hottest summer on record - and we sure felt it!
