After we played in Yellowstone, we headed to Cody, Wyoming for a few days to visit my Grandpa and Grandma Mac. They are serving a mission there at the Cody Mural, a neat church with a mural of the first 70 years of the history of the church.
They had our Friday planned and packed! We started with a bus tour of Cody. Sammy fell asleep pretty early on and snuggled with Grandpa most of the ride.
It was interesting to learn about the history of the area, to see the old houses, and to learn about the people who settled it - mainly Buffalo Bill Cody - who the town is madly in love with still!
After the tour, we headed to Old Town, an area of old houses set up with pioneer era stuff.
It was neat to see the way people used to live on the frontier - and helped me appreciate the modern day conveniences we have - especially air conditioning! It was hot!
Eliza kept putting her sticker on her belly button - silly kid!
There was a spot you could try roping a bull on too - that was the kids' favorite.
Spencer even got in on the action.
I love this picture. :)
That night we went to the Cody Rodeo. Grandma and Grandpa got there early and got us seats right above the chute so we could see the horses and cowboys getting ready.
Cody does a rodeo every single night from the beginning of June until the end of August! Crazy!
It was the first rodeo for the kids and Spencer and they enjoyed it.
We all decided we liked the barrel racing the best because no animals got hurt in it.
Eliza was charming all our neighbors during the rodeo - funny kid!
A terrible picture but evidence we were all there! It was a late night but a fun one!
