Fun with Daddy and Mommy

This has been a much more relaxing month for the Van Hooses. Here are a few photos from some fun things we've done with Lucy lately. One night I had somewhere I had to go and Lucy and Spencer made a fort downstairs. She had fun going in and out of it. This morning Lucy and I went to the zoo with our neighborhood playgroup. The zoo was free so it was nice to go and not feel like we had to stay to get our money's worth. She loved the monkeys the best of all the animals but she especially loved the fountain at the entrance!

Simple Pleasures

Lucy has been a hoot the past couple of days.

Spencer got Guitar Hero for Christmas and we ordered him some drums.

They came in this box.

Well, Lucy liked the drums but she really liked the box!

Then Friday, I was feeling like a boring mommy so I decided to try something fun.

We mixed up a package of vanilla pudding and then stuck it in a few bags with some food coloring.

Then we went to town finger painting.

Lucy had so much fun and was able to help with it all from the mixing to the eating. We sure love this little girl!

Wintertime Fun

During Spencer's winter break we spent a lot of time just hanging out together as a family. One thing we did was play outside in the snow. It was Lucy's first real chance to check out the white stuff at close range as she was too little last year and we've been too busy before this.

Lucy has started to love to play dress-up. Here she is wearing about 4 of my shirts and a pair of my shoes. Too cute!

Slides apparently are not just for summer.
