Natural History Museum of Utah

After Sammy, Eliza, and I had such a good time at the Natural History Museum last fall, when I found a groupon for discounted tickets, I snatched them up!

We took the whole family on January 2nd.

We had lots of fun! The kids tried on bug costumes in the little kid area.

And checked out live animals from the area that were on display.

There was a neat spot where there were dinosaur bones on display under the floor.

The kids thought that was pretty cool, though it took Eliza a bit of encouraging to step on the glass,

It was fun to see the kids so interested in so many things. We explored a lot more of the museum this time around and they were wiped out by the time we headed home!

This was outside the horse exhibit. This was a super fun activity to finish off our Christmas Break!

New Years Sledding

On New Year's Day we decided to get out of the house and enjoy the little snow we had still. 

It's a good thing we did because we haven't gotten any more since then!

We just went down to the little park in our neighborhood. It was the first time Sammy had been sledding and only the second time for Lucy so the little hill was the perfect size for them to start on.

We had a blast! It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful afternoon.

The kids liked this round sled the best - they got going pretty fast on it.

We are looking forward to more snow (maybe?) so we can go again!

Eliza 19 Months

 19 Months!

At 19 months old, Eliza is independent, curious, adorable, and fun!

She says "Mama" all the time now and "yes." Sometime she says "Dada" and "uh-o" though that doesn't always mean no. 

She loves playing and interacting with us and the world and you can really see her figuring out things.

She's still incredibly picky but loves cottage cheese, fruit, and all things sweet, just like she is. :)

Everyday Moments December

Playing dress up! Lucy dressed up specifically as the Pirate Fairy.

This year we made an entire gingerbread village. 

It was a fun FHE activity.

Eliza even got her own house to decorate (though Daddy did most of it).

Love this fun Christmas tradition.

Lucy and Sammy both wanted to sit next to Eliza one morning at breakfast.

It's been such a weird winter. It didn't snow enough to stick until Christmas (which was pretty cool). A couple of days later Lucy and I went out to make a snowman. We shovelled the entire yard to get this small pile. We named him Frosty the Snowpile.

Eliza loves this fireplace at Ashley's house - probably because she fits so nicely inside it! :)

This is the weather we had most of December - warm enough for sweatshirts while playing in the sandbox. Notice the grass is even still green!

She dumped the Pirate's Booty all over the floor and then was so sad about it! It was hilarious!

One afternoon we went over to Ashley's for lunch and cookie decorating. We are so blessed to have such good friends just a few houses down. :)

On our anniversary we went to Color Me Mine and decorated pottery for each other.

We do the traditional anniversary gifts every year because our anniversary is so close to Christmas. This year - 8 years - is pottery.

I decorated a baseball piggy bank for Spencer and he made me a pretty vase. They both turned out great!

Luna sure enjoyed Eliza's Christmas present on Christmas Eve. 

Christmas Eve we decided to finally replace our old fridge and stove so we went shopping all afternoon. The day after Christmas they were delivered.  The new fridge is 1/8" too tall so we tore out the cabinet above it and painted and such. It was a busy day.
