Spring/Easter Break

This past week was Spencer's spring break, and though the weather didn't cooperate (snow, rain, and wind), we still managed to have a good time and to get lots done. Spencer got our front door re keyed, made screens for our front room windows, and reorganized and inventoried our food storage. He had a great little helper all along the way too. Lucy loved playing with the tools and spending extra time with her daddy.
Easter morning, Lucy woke up to find the Easter bunny had left her a full basket of goodies.

One of the things in her basket was The Princess and the Frog. Here she is doing her sign for frog. This isn't the actual sign for it so it cracks me up every time she does this. It's such a cute expression.

We also colored eggs that morning. She loved this! She kept moving the eggs from dye to dye and kept trying to put more than one in each cup. She was so upset when we told her it was time to be done. Once we finally pulled her away, her hands were brown from all the dye. This is definitely an activity we will have to keep doing with her through the years.

Later in the day, in her cute Easter outfit, we had her hunt eggs around the house. The kitty got to one of them first and batted it all the way down the stairs - she thought that was pretty funny.

Then we went to my dad's for Easter dinner and she got to hunt eggs again! She was one spoiled little girl - she got a basket of fun stuff from Mommy and Daddy, one from Nana Manwill, one from Grandpa and Grandma Mac, and one from Great-Grandpa and Grandma Mac. You'd have thought it was Christmas!! :)

22 months

Our little girl is growing up so much! We actually took these photos a day early - Sunday was so pretty, we decided to go for a walk over to the park by our house. Lucy loves the swing and the slide there and she has been loving spending time outside lately. She is an active little girl! She's also come a long way with her vocal vocabulary. She can say mommy, daddy, nana, duckie, doggie, kitty, baby, binkie, meow, doll, and ball. Some of them sound the same (like ball and doll - haven't gotten that b sound down yet) so you have to use context to figure out what she's saying. She's also started to learn her letter sounds. We got her a fridge phonics toy for Christmas and she picked up the M sound from it. She'll see an M somewhere, point at it, and say the sound. From there she's learned H, T, O, and S really well. It's so fun to watch her learn new things!

Prego Mama

So sometimes I feel like this kid is getting jipped. With a toddler around, it's hard to concentrate on something you can't see - like a growing fetus. This pregnancy has either been the same as it was with Lucy or I don't remember what Lucy felt like! Luckily, I haven't been sick much and since I got orthopedics made for my shoes, the back issues have decreased a ton. Now that we are in the home stretch (I'm 34 weeks along - only 6ish to go!), things are getting a bit more uncomfortable but that is to be expected, I suppose! We've only taken pregnancy photos 3 times so far. The first was at 24 1/2 weeks along. The second was at 28 weeks. And the third was just this Sunday - at almost 34 weeks.
