Elephants, Tigers, and Monkeys, oh my!

Yesterday we went to the zoo again and this time Spencer was able to come along!
He took a half day off of work and the 3 of us, along with his younger sisters, trekked on over to the zoo.
It was the last free day until next fall and, luckily, more animals were out, although the weather wasn't as good as it was last month.
We got to see the baby elephant! She was super cute and Lucy liked her. We also spent a lot of time with the primates.
The spider monkeys were especially cool as they climbed on the glass separating us.
There are also three baby tiger cubs at the zoo and they were playful and fun while we were there.
We got snowed on - first decent snow in almost 2 months - but it didn't seem to faze the animals.
We also had to stop for the obligatory ape photos. Lucy wasn't too keen on posing for us so you just get photos of Spence and I :)
It was a great opportunity for a fun, inexpensive, family activity!

20 months

Lucy turned 20 months last week, just in time for us to get some cute photos before she got RSV this week! She's been pretty miserable but she, hopefully, is on the mend. During her 20th month, Lucy began jabbering more. She still only has a few understandable words but her vocabulary is expanding. She says mama, daddy, nana, duck, bye, and hi. She also is getting more and more interested in potty training. She's not ready yet, but definitely interested. She'll follow us in and do the sign for potty. She also points to her diaper and sometimes knows when she's going or when she needs a diaper change. This is super encouraging for us. We'd like to potty train her this summer when Spencer is home more and can help lots. We're still working on the toddler bed. She has good nights and bad nights and, unfortunately, I'm sure it will take some retraining after she gets better from this sickness, as she's spent lots more time in our bed. Next on the list - getting rid of the binky once and for all! The baby is due in 3 1/2 months so that is our timetable. Wish us luck!
