Eliza 8 Months Old

 This little miss turned 8 months old at the beginning of February. She has officially reached the "hard to photograph" stage! :)

 She has been getting more and more mobile and physically lately.  She loves her toes, rolls around everywhere, and has begun making crawling movements.

Everything goes in her mouth these days. Not even the blanket for the photo shoot was safe from her empty gums! No teeth yet, but no one's complaining here!

She's so alert and loves to be around people, especially Mommy.

 And she's been making more and more sounds. She says, "mamamamamama" and "dadadadada" a lot which makes me want to think she's saying Mama and Dada but who really knows? :)

She loves baby food and feeding herself. And most importantly, she is still as happy as ever!

Everyday Moments January 2014

 We started the year with a pretty big house project. Well, big for us anyway!

I don't have a lot of love for my kitchen. I have grand plans of how to completely remodel it. However, grand plans take grand money that just isn't there at the moment. So instead, we're giving it a budget friendly makeover!

We covered up the neutral beige colors in the kitchen, dining room, stairs, and hallway with a pretty, light buttery yellow. I love it!

My goal was to lighten up the room and it worked! Next up (after finally putting decorations on the walls!) is to paint the cupboards white and add hardware to them. Then, during Spring Break, we plan on ripping out the horrible carpet and putting in some inexpensive wood laminate flooring. I can't wait! :)

Lucy helps me out a lot during Eliza's monthly photo shoots. She's started wanting to take pictures too. Here's one of Eliza and I she took. Like my jammies? ;)

We do a lot of coloring around here!

It was my turn to teach Joy School this month and we mixed cornstarch and water for a fun experiment!

Eliza 7 Months Old

I'm a month behind on these monthday photos but our little miss turned 7 months old at the beginning of the year.

 She can usually be found on her belly these days - or rather on her way to her belly! She loves rolling over and playing on her belly.

 In fact, she now loves to sleep on her belly.  We had a rough couple of weeks with her sleeping. I had gotten lazy about letting her fall asleep while nursing.  Then she'd roll over while sleeping, wake up, and want to nurse back to sleep. We had to go back to basics for a week or so to get her back on track.

We finally had her 6 month well-child check up on her 7th month day. She weighed in at 18 lbs 2 oz and 24 inches tall.

She got a bunch of shots too and was such a trooper!

 Eliza's personality comes out more and more each day. She loves to be around people and her face just lights up when she sees us.

She loves baby food - especially carrots! Though she wasn't too excited for the peaches we surprised her with on Christmas.

Everything goes in her mouth.Including her cute sticker. I guess that was her signal that our photo shoot was over!

Christmas 2013

 Yay for Christmas! Our kids were ridiculously spoiled again this year and it was so much fun!

 This was the best picture of the three of them but it was a bit blurry.

My mom stayed over Christmas Eve and made Lucy and Sammy's Christmas jammies. Christmas morning we ate yummy cinnamon rolls and opened presents.

Lucy got her pony doll from Santa along with lots of other fun toys, including a bow and arrow from Nana (Sammy got one too).

Sammy got Hot Wheels tracks from Santa and Mom and Dad. He also got "Pachu-guns" from Nana. 

 The big kids had a lot of fun helping Eliza open her gifts. Little did they know that most of them were their old toys pulled out from storage and re-wrapped!

She had as much fun with the wrapping as she did with the toys. :)

This was my favorite of their gifts. These are blankets/stuffed animals that I made for the kids. My friend and I spent a total of 15 hours over three nights making these suckers but I love how they turned out! Sammy's is a monster and the girls' are unicorns. 

Mid-morning we headed over to my dad's house for brunch.  It's also Trace's birthday and we celebrated that and opened more gifts. Eliza got a hold of Grandpa's glasses and thought they tasted pretty good. :) Sammy and Lucy also got foam swords from them. We are well stocked for the zombie apocalypse now!

From Dad's we headed over to Spencer's parent's house where we opened a couple more gifts and had Christmas dinner. It was a very full day but lots of fun! When we got home that night I couldn't believe the house! It looked like Christmas threw up all over! Which I guess it kind of did! :)
