Halloween 2014

We always seem to put off carving pumpkins until the last minute. I've decided to embrace this!

We had a pumpkin shaped pizza, got free Jamba Juices for the kids, and carved pumpkins before heading out for trick or treating.

The kids drew their faces on their pumpkins and then I cut them out.

They turned out pretty cute!

Then we got all dressed up and took a bunch of pictures!

Our cute family!

This year Sammy and Lucy couldn't agree on a theme so we separated the family by gender and coordinated that way. Sammy was Leonardo from TMNT (he had a mask too but didn't want to wear it) and Spencer was Shredder.

Lucy was Elsa, I was Anna, and Eliza was Olaf from Frozen.

My mom made my awesome costume. I added the designs with freezer paper and paint and she did the rest! She's amazing. :)

Spencer and I did his costume. The helmet is made from my old catcher's mask and duct tape!

My mom made Lucy's costume too. I saw a lot of Elsas this year, but none with as pretty of a costume.

Sammy's was the easiest! He used his pajamas as the base and got his shell, swords, and mask for his birthday.

I made Eliza's costume. It was a bit of a stretch for me but was a fun challenge. I used a pattern but modified it a bit for the hood and the skirt. I bought the hat from someone on etsy. Isn't it cute?

The kids had a great time trick or treating. We went with our friends and neighbors, the Poulsens.

Parties and Parades

This year, with both Lucy and Sammy in school, we had a couple more parties and parades than before. Up first was Sammy.

He and his buddy Will paraded around together. He participated in the singing too.

Eliza and Will's baby sister, Kate, had fun playing (and hugging!) during the festivities.

Lucy's parade was a couple of days later. After waiting for-ev-er for it to start, we got to see this smiling face. :)

That afternoon, I went in to help with her party. They played different games and decorated cookies.

Eliza had a lot of fun wandering around the room and sitting in the "big kid" chairs.

The week of Halloween we also had the annual ward party.

They had a chili cook off and games for the kids.

Sammy's favorite was the bounce house.

They also had a photo booth. We did a picture of all the princesses there (and queen). I was surprised there weren't any repeats!

Pumpkin Patch!

Making a trip to the pumpkin patch was something we'd been wanting to do all month. Fortunately, we made it, but just in time!

Lucy didn't have school on Halloween so I took the kids for a last minute trip!

This was probably their favorite part - and the part they were most looking forward to from last year - the corn pit.

They made corn angels, dug around in it, tossed it in the air, and buried my legs.

Aren't they adorable?

They all took turns playing on the tractors.

And the girls loved the baby goats. I didn't have any change on me but we found some food pellets on the floor to feed them.

Eliza was entranced by them!

Then we grabbed a wheelbarrow and headed off to find some pumpkins!

Eliza was in heaven! She wandered everywhere!

We also played a bit in the corn stalks.

Sammy wasn't too keen on having his picture taken but I snuck some in anyway. ;)

Taking a break.

My beautiful children!

Lucy was all about having pictures taken!

Sorry Mom, Can't look up - busy driving!
