Graduations

Both of my big kiddos had "graduations" this year. On the 28th of May, Lucy graduated from kindergarten.

The kids had a program with singing and dancing, showing off some of the stuff they learned during the year. Here's Lucy with Lucy Field, her bestie.

Then they called each student one at a time to come get their diplomas and a book of their writing from their teacher. Lucy had Mrs. Ruzzi this year. She was excellent and Lucy loved her.

All of the kiddos in Lucy's primary class who went to kindergarten this year. In order, we have: Lucy Field, Lucy Van Hoose, Kelsey Lowe, Jake Hall, and Daxton Reid. Sadly, both Lucy Field and Kelsey are moving this summer. :(

They all had the same teacher too! We loved having them all in the same class as it was really convenient!

Me and my big girl! :)

On the 30th of May, Sammy graduated from Joy School! Here is his little class. I loved teaching this group of kids.

Our little graduates are: William Gause, Abby Millburn, Sammy Van Hoose, Paul McGarvey, and Maylee Hall.

All the kids and their "teachers" or moms. :) We had a BBQ with all our families and guests, a little program, and a slide show of pictures from our year.

Me and my other little graduate. :)

Heroes in a Half Shell!

If you couldn't already tell from his birthday post, Sammy is a bit Turtle obsessed at the moment. :)

He picked that as his theme for his birthday and his grandparents and a bunch of others went with the theme. He loved it!

On his actual birthday, he had pink eye. Sad! He had to miss his soccer game and we had to reschedule his birthday party.

We gave him our gift anyway and he loved it.

He got this digger toy for the sandbox and the kids had a great time playing with it and the dump truck.

My dad and Patti got him the mask and one of the swords and my mom got him the shell and the other sword, so between them all he had a complete turtle outfit! He was super excited! And he wants to be Leonardo for Halloween so we are almost ready for that already!

I also made him a cake still.

It turned out pretty awesome, in my opinion. :)

4 years old!

A week later, we had his party. This time around, I made a batch of cupcakes. I love how cute they turned out. :)

We colored turtles, then gave them masks.

Then the most fun, most time consuming part - become turtles! I made swords from PVC pipe and pool noodles, masks from t-shirts, and shells from dollar store roasting pans, spray paint, and ribbon. The kids looked so cool!

And Spencer made himself some Shredder arms and grabbed a cape. The kids thought it was hilariously fun to attack him and Spencer was such a great sport about it!

And of course, any Turtle party wouldn't be complete without pizza! It was a lot of work but it was so much fun!

Sammy 3 Years

Our little man is a whooping 4 years old!

Sammy at 4 is fun, curious, sweet, crazy, and active. His accomplishments include counting to 20-11 (hehe! I love when he says 20-10 and 20-11 instead of 30 and 31), being able to write his name, and coloring really well. He is also excellent at sharing and riding his bike. At his well child check up, he measured right in the middle of the pack, though a bit on the short side, which is to be expected, considering the size of his parents!

Kristen & Zach get hitched!

At the end of March, Kristen and Zach got married.

It was fun to go to another temple wedding. This is only the second we've been able to attend since we got married so it was fun to remember our own.

I took the photos for the couple and I was pretty happy with how they turned out. :)

It was a beautiful spring day and the kids were loving the weather and the excitement of playing with their cousins.

These peg people were a gift from us. They are Link and Zelda from a video game and they used them for their cake topper.

Dennis, EmilyAnn, and their 5 youngest were able to make it up in time for the reception. They stayed with us a couple of nights and it was lots of fun to have them here. This is all the grandkids except the two oldest and the youngest.

The girls had so much fun playing together.

This picture cracks me up. :)
